Dr. Abadie is a passionate life-long learner who celebrates and aims to elevate teachers!

Jeannine has over 10 years of education and experience in communication, learning, and instructional theory. She has lived in Santa Rosa Beach since 2005 after moving here from Chalmette, Louisiana. With a bachelor's degree in middle grades mathematics education, certification in grades 5-12, and ESOL endorsement, Jeannine served as a teacher for 8 years and as the District Teacher of the Year. Jeannine has a master's degree in mathematics and statistics and another in instructional design and technology. Jeannine completed a doctorate in IDT from the University of West Florida in 2023. Although Jeannine does not have children of her own, she is a proud dog mom to Rafiki!

Mrs. Shehan is a dedicated educator with a degree in Elementary Education from
the University of Alabama, along with endorsements in Reading and ESOL. With over ten years of experience in teaching kindergarten, Mrs. Shehan began her career in Tuscaloosa County before spending the past nine years in the Walton County School System at both Bay Elementary and Dune Lakes Elementary. In 2018, she was honored to represent Bay Elementary as Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Shehan is passionate about helping young students discover the joy of learning. Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Shehan enjoys spending time with her husband and their two young children, Brooks (3) and Emma (1). She loves relaxing at the beach, reading a good book, and cheering for the Alabama Crimson Tide!

Mrs. Carden earned a Bachelor of Science from Georgia Institute of Technology and then went on to earn a Master of Middle Grades Education in Math from Mercer University. She began her teaching career with 7th and 8th grade Pre-Algebra and Algebra I students. After five years of middle grades math, Mrs. Carden transitioned to teaching at the college level. She spent 12 years teaching remedial math to college students in addition to College Algebra and Statistics. Her passion is helping ill-prepared students gain the math skills and confidence needed to further their career goals. She prides herself on finding creative ways to help students understand abstract concepts. Mrs. Carden and her family moved to Santa Rosa Beach from Europe three years ago. Since then she has worked with a local homeschool family to instruct their three daughters in Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2 and Geometry. Working with the homeschool family has been both fun and rewarding and she really enjoyed working so closely one on one with each of the girls.

Mrs. Wesson has been a teacher for over 20 years. She graduated with a degree in elementary education from Florida International University and continued her education with a Master’s Degree in reading education from University of West Florida in 2004. She has Florida Certification in elementary education grades 1-6, reading education grades K-12 along with an endorsement in ESOL. She has taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and college! Additional training and certifications she has earned over the years are numerous but most notably includes attaining National Boards Certification in 2007 and successfully renewing in 2017. Most recently Mrs. Wesson earned a graduate level certification in dyslexia, accredited by the International Dyslexia Association, from the University of Florida in 2025. Her background also includes an extensive amount of work training other teachers in 21st century technologies and project based learning. Some of her after school activities she has led with students have included tutoring, science club, a running club for girls, and robotics. Mrs. Wesson loves to continue to learn and inspire others towards a love for learning of all subjects. She strongly believes if you are having fun while learning, you are going to retain more, so she tries to make learning fun and establish relationships that show her students they are valued. Outside of teaching, she enjoys boating and camping with her husband. She is also an avid reader and belongs to a book club. When she has the time, she travels as much as possible to visit their 3 grown children and 3 grandchildren. At home they currently have one big fur baby. He is an American Bulldog named Beau.

Mrs. Burnett has 24 years of teaching experience in elementary education, all spent in the Kansas district where she grew up. She is passionate about creating a joyful, engaging classroom where students develop confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of reading and learning. Andrea holds both a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from Wichita State University. She was recognized as a Kansas Teacher of the Year semi-finalist—an honor she holds close to her heart. Now living in Florida, Mrs. Burnett is thrilled to be closer to her oldest daughter, son-in-law, and grandson. Her youngest daughter lives in Dallas, and she cherishes every chance to spend time with her family. Outside the classroom, she enjoys reading, relaxing at the beach, and making lasting memories with her loved ones.

Mrs. Skaggs is a graduate of Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. She also received a Masters in Social Sciences and Reading. She also held a certificate in Reading Recovery and Dyslexia. Most recently she has obtained her Florida Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education Grades 1-6. She has taught third grade, sixth grade, and was a Reading Specialist until her retirement after 29 years. Outside of teaching Jill loves to read, play pickleball, and spend time with her family. She also has a huge passion for sports, especially basketball. Jill and her husband moved here in 2022 from St. Louis where they were both born and raised. They have two boys and two dogs. After being here for a few years she realized how much she missed her love of teaching, especially the kids she helped grow and learn.

Ms. Jolin discovered her love for working with children in high school, when she began teaching ballet and babysitting for local families. She went on to study ballet at Point Park University before returning home to deepen her involvement in education. Since then, she has worked in a preschool, subbed in Okaloosa County, and continued to teach ballet at the studio where she first learned to dance. With over 5 years of hands-on experience, Jolin is dedicated to creating a positive, encouraging environment for every child she works with. When she’s not teaching, she enjoys quiet moments at home with her two lively kittens, Nova and Jett, who never fail to make her laugh.
